Especially for females, who has weak eyebrows due to epilation processes, hormonal disorders, as well as patients who have congenital thin and rare eyebrows, eyebrow transplantation with FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) method is possible.
Eyebrow transplantation can be done in donor area without shaving and scar. For this procedure, the grafts can be taken from the hair or groin follicles. Eyebrow transplantation can be naturally done with special needles with an angle of 5 to 15 degrees. For the eyebrow transplantation, total of 250-300 roots will be enough. This number provides natural frequency.
The transplanted areas, the roots will start to supplied with new blood vessels in 5 to 7 days. After 2 to 3 weeks transplanted eyebrow will fall. The transplanted roots will grow in 3-4 months and the result will be seen in 1 year. After the transplantation for a while there can be a need of eyebrow reshaping which can be done by cutting. It is possible to dye, to shape by cutting or to depilate the eyebrows if desired.
Eyebrow transplantation should be done by Plastic Surgeons in experienced clinics. As Eyebrow transplantation is technically a very complicated operation, that’s why patients should evaluate and make their choices very carefully.
Hair transplantation is generally performed at occipital (nape) region between the two ears (horseshoe shaped), where hair follicles that are resistant to androgenic hormones. The %99 (most common) donor zone extending as a horizontal band of approximately 5-6 cm. width. Before the transplantation we are shaving or cutting the hair. Rarely after the "FOX Test" there may be cases where it has not been applied. In such cases we prefer to apply classical hair transplantations(FUT) method.
With the FUE method, hair follicles are removed with a special micro-motor(suitable for this micro-motor is 0.6-1 mm in diameter cylindrical blades)without the use of a scalpel, without leaving a scar. With FUE method, follicular units are removed without harming the underlying connective tissues. Each follicular unit contains 1-4 hair and their roots. In the FUE method, the donor area generally is shaved to 1 mm. For our women patients, transplantation can be done by a small donor area and social life will not be harmed by camouflaging with other hair.
After local anesthesia, donor (hair transplant removal area) follicles will be taken, than these hair follicles will be inserted in the slitten areas.
The transplanted hair will fall in 15 days to 3 months after the operation. New hairs will grow between 0 to 12 months. In order to see the result of the transplantation, patients should have patience. The first wash after the surgery is performed after the first 48 hours of the operation. Washing process must be done with special shampoos (nutritious natural) which is recommended by Dr. Satir with special washing techniques. After the surgery (0 to 12 months) there is a possibility of acne on the scalp. Although the transplanted hair follicles can remain dormant for up to 12 months, these effects are marked as temporary.
Advantages of This Technique:
Within a week, the small holes in the area where the follicles are taken, closes itself without any problem. 1.500 to 6.500 hair follicles (meanly 3.300- 14.300 hairs) can be taken at one session (my personal recommendation is that at each session should not exceed the limit of 5.000 follicles). Since the scalp strip is not removed from the nape area, the recovery is much faster. There is no scarring, no persistent numbness to be observed.
In cases where there are not enough follicles in the head region, Follicular units can be taken from chest, back, abdomen, leg area, etc. and transferred to head. This technique is called BHT (Body Hair Transplantation). For BHT Method, the density of the scalp hair is not a key perfomance indicator for this operation.
If the patients don't want to cut (or shave their hair) we can also transplant 2.000 grafts (follicles) successfully in one session. However, with this method, it takes at least double more time compared to hair shaved transplantation.
Dr.Satir, was the 1st medical doctor in Turkey and in the world who applied the PRP-FUE Hair Transplantation Method (Bio-Hair Transplantation) since 2010. His “Bio-Hair Transplantation Method” is still a role model for many other medical doctors who are specialised in Hair Transplantation.
Hair transplantation operations are defined as the transfer of a sufficient amount of hair follicles, which are resistant to androgenic hormones, in the nape region (between the two ears in general) from a variety of techniques, into hairless or bald areas.
Hair transplantation using the FUT method is generally performed under local anesthesia. However, in some cases additional ancillary analgesics and sedative drugs may be used. Normally general anesthesia is not preferred.
Hair transplantation with FUT method is a process that takes between 2 to 5 hours depending on the number of grafts transplanted. With the FUT method, the hair in the nape region is 2-5 mm shaved. Depending on the skin to be removed, the subcutaneous tissue, the density of this hairless area, the elasticity of the skin, and how much hair transplantation the patient needs is planned by the Plastic Surgeon who will do the operation.
Following local anesthesia under disinfection, this area is removed surgically. At this stage of the operation, it is very important to make incisions parallel to the entrance edges of the hair roots to reduce the loss of follicular units and to ensure less scars. Than we are stitching this area. After this process, the incision scar will be invisible as the upper and lower hairs will cover the incision area. This surgically removed tissue, is separated under a microscope into follicular units. After the local anesthesia is applied to the baldness areas, the separated follicles are transplanted by opening the slit channels.
A prescription will be given after the surgery and bandaged to remain for 2 days. No major complaints or severe pain are observed after the surgery. Crusting will start in the transplanted area. The first wash of your hair should be done 48 hours after the surgery to get rid of these crusts and for the healthy blood supply. If our patients can come to our clinic, we can also provide this washing service. This washing process will be repeated once a day until the 10th day after the transplantation. Stiches will be removed on the 15th day after the operation. Post-operative swelling disappears spontaneously within 2 to 5 days. Swelling can be reduced with cold application after surgery.
After hair transplantation, the transplanted hair will fall between 15 days to 3 months. Transplanted hair roots will start to grow from the 3rd month on.
Between 3 to 12 months after operation, acne scars may develop on the transplanted area. Also numbness can be observed in the transplanted and donor areas between 6 to 12 months. If the 2nd session is scheduled after the 1st hair transplantation, this can be applied at least 6 months after the 1st operation.
The main disadvantages of the hair transplantation with the FUT method:
1- The number of grafts that can be transplanted is maximum 1500 (normally 800-1200).
2- There will be a permanent scar on the donor area.
The only advantage is that the hair should not be shaved.
In the hair mesotherapy treatment, the medications which are useful for the hair are given directly subcutaneously or intracutaneously. As the injected medications injected at right doses, there will not be any side effects observed. Hair mesotherapy method is effective in the strengthening, thickening and feeding of the hair. Sometimes it helps to grow new hair.
In the hair mesotherapy treatment; vitamins, minerals and local anesthetic medications are mixed and injected subcutaneously or intracutaneously. Direct injection of these beneficial substances leads to revitalization of sleeping and weak hair stem cells as well as that causes regeneration.
Hair mesotherapy treatment is applied in 8 sessions at 2 week intervals. After an average of 6 sessions, the effects start to show itself. Hair mesotherapy treatment can not applied at the same session of hair transplantation operation but that can be applied after 15-30 days of hair transplantation. Very rarely allergies can be occur but and this can be easily treated.
PRP (Platelet Ridge Plasma), growth factors (mainly platelet growth factors) that are separated from the patient's blood by injecting it into the weak or bald hair areas on the head. When there is a damage in our body the plasma enriched from platelets goes and repairs these areas. With the PRP method, much more intensive growth factor is obtained and much faster regeneration is achieved in the targeted area. The PRP(Platelet Ridge Plasma) taken from the patient's 8-20 cc blood and subcutaneous injected to the targeted area (Mesotherapy Method).
PRP treatment is a growth factor injection rather than stem cell treatment. With this treatment, regeneration of tissue is accelerated. PRP is an extremely safe method of treatment as long as it is applied under sterile conditions (by doctors) with sterile materials. It is also completely natural treatment and there is no risk of allergy.
One of the most frequently asked questions about PRP method is that;
“If these growth factors are in our blood, why it does not has shown this effect automatically?”
The answer is that we can achieve to have higher concentrations of growth factors compared to our blood.
PRP treatments are effective if it is applied 4 to 6 times in 2 to 4 weeks of intervals. The effect will be seen after the 3rd injection. Afterwards, a booster is recommended in every 6-12 months.
PRP method is not recommended or not applied to:
